Keeping our communities safe

  • Tweet
KB Police

Since 2019, and following the Government's delivery of it's manifesto commitment we have an additional 500 officers across Essex, with more to come. I have also;

  • Organised ride alongs and walkabouts with our Essex Police Fire and Crime Commissioner Roger Hirst and Chelmsford and Uttlesford officers

  • Co-hosted community crime meetings, including most recently in Dunmow

  • Launched a rural crime survey on my website, sharing feedback with the Rural Engagement Team

I will continue to work with our local policing teams to tackle rural crime, anti-social behaviour and improve police visibility in our towns and villages

Rural Engagement Team:

Essex Police have a dedicated Rural Engagement Team (RET) set up specifically to engage with our rural communities. During the past few years, officers have secured some significant results, in and out of court.

As its name suggests, engaging with rural communities – residents, farmers, landowners, business people, and local organisations – is a huge part of the job.
