North West Essex MP and Leader of the Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch, has pledged that the next Conservative Government will create 100,000 more apprenticeships as A-Level, T-Level and vocational students across North West Essex receive their results.

The Conservatives' New Deal for Young People is a fully funded plan designed to address the challenges facing young people in the 2020s.

The deal will create 100,000 apprenticeships for 18 to 21-year-olds by lifting funding caps and giving employers up to £5,000 for every British apprentice they hire.

Under the New Deal, young people will be able to keep the first £5,000 of National Insurance contributions they pay, which would be placed into a savings account to help them buy their first home or provide future financial security.

Commenting, Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP said:

"Congratulations to all the young people across North West Essex receiving their results and taking the next step towards their future.

“Uttlesford and Chelmsford benefit from a thriving local economy, with businesses offering excellent apprenticeship opportunities that help young people gain the skills employers need.

"The Conservatives New Deal for Young People will expand access to high-quality apprenticeships, ensuring that young people can build successful careers without having to leave their local area. The Conservatives are delivering real opportunities and backing the aspirations of the next generation."
